Abstract - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Air Resources Laboratory has developed a computerized emergency response system for accessing and displaying meteorological data and for predicting the transport and dispersion of pollutants released into the environment. This system is called the Real-time Environmental Applications and Display system (READY). READY was designed to provide emergency response personnel quick access to a host of products with little required input, but also to provide enough flexibility to tailor the final output for a particular user. An example is given of the use of READY during a simulated radiological release over Europe.
